SMS Terms & Opt-In

Effective October 26, 2026

EZ Online Ordering is a product of Ivywild Media. It is not a separate company or brand. Ivywild Media provides the online ordering service to restaurants and other food and beverage merchants (each, a “Merchant”), and every text message described here is sent by Ivywild Media on the Merchant’s behalf. This page describes exactly how a customer agrees to receive text messages, what we send, when, and how to stop.

1. How customers opt in

Customers opt in at checkout on the Merchant’s online ordering page, which Ivywild Media hosts on the EZ Online Ordering platform. Checkout has one text message consent box. That one box covers both kinds of message described in section 2: order updates and marketing (offers, promotions and rewards). There is no separate box for each kind.

  • The box is unchecked by default. The only time it appears already checked is for a signed in customer who already turned on texts from their own account page (see below); they can uncheck it for that order.
  • Consent is not a condition of purchase. An order can be placed with the box unchecked, and the customer can follow the order on its order status page instead.
  • The box is never bundled with any other agreement.

This is the opt in control as it appears at checkout:

Text me order updates, offers and rewards. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.Details (expands to): By checking this box I agree to receive automated text messages from Demo Kitchen, sent via EZ Online Ordering, a service of Ivywild Media, at the mobile number provided: both transactional messages (order confirmation, order-ready, pickup and delivery updates, and one-time verification codes) and occasional marketing messages (offers, promotions and rewards). Consent is not a condition of purchase. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. See our SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.

Example only: a non-functional reproduction of the live checkout consent control. On the live page the restaurant’s own name appears where this shows Demo Kitchen.

Account page. A customer who signs in to an ordering account can also turn texts on or off from their account page, which has two separate switches: “Text me about my orders” and “Text me offers from” the restaurant. Both start off and are only turned on by the customer.

Merchants cannot upload, import, or otherwise add phone numbers for text messaging. A number can only be texted after the customer checks the checkout box or turns on a switch on their own account page.

2. What we send

Order updates (transactional)

Messages about an order the customer placed. Each restaurant chooses which order updates it sends, from this list:

  • Order confirmation, including the pickup or delivery time for a scheduled order;
  • Order being prepared;
  • Order ready, or on its way for delivery;
  • Order complete;
  • Order canceled, including the reply to a customer’s own cancel request;
  • A delay notice with the new estimated time;
  • A message from restaurant staff about that specific order.

One time verification codes are sent only when the customer asks for one to sign in to their ordering account.

Marketing

Occasional offers, promotions and rewards from the one restaurant the customer ordered from, such as a promo code or a reminder about a deal. Marketing texts go only to customers whose most recent choice was yes: the checkout box on their latest order, or the offers switch on their account page if they changed it after that order. Checking the box on one order and leaving it unchecked on a later order withdraws consent to marketing. Every marketing text names the restaurant, includes a link to the restaurant’s ordering page or website, and ends with “Reply STOP to opt out.”

Sample messages

Your Demo Kitchen verification code is: 483920

Demo Kitchen: Sam, your order is confirmed and we’re getting started.

Demo Kitchen: Sam, your order is ready for pickup.

Demo Kitchen: Sam, sorry, your order is running about 10 more minutes (new estimate 6:45 PM).

Demo Kitchen: Hi Sam! Tacos are 2 for 1 this Tuesday with code TACO2. https://demokitchen.com/order?via=taco-tuesday Reply STOP to opt out.

3. When we send

Marketing texts are sent only between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM in the restaurant’s local time zone. A marketing text scheduled for any other time waits and goes out after 9:00 AM the next morning. A marketing send that could not finish before 8:00 PM is not started that evening; it waits for 9:00 AM.

Order updates are sent when the restaurant updates the customer’s order, which can be outside those hours because they are about an order the customer just placed. Verification codes are sent the moment the customer asks for one.

4. Message frequency and cost

Message frequency varies. Order updates depend on how often the customer orders and which updates the restaurant sends, typically one to four messages per order. Marketing frequency is set by the restaurant and varies. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. How to stop (STOP)

Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts from our number, order updates and marketing alike. CANCEL, QUIT, OPTOUT, UNSUBSCRIBE, STOPALL, REVOKE, and END also work. The customer then receives one confirmation:

You have successfully been unsubscribed. You will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe.

When a marketing send finds that a number has replied STOP, that number is also added to the restaurant’s own do not text list and is never included in its marketing again.

Other ways to stop: leave the box unchecked on the next order (that order gets no texts, and marketing stops from then on), or turn off the offers switch on the account page.

Opting out never cancels an order or affects service. Order status stays available on the order status page. Replying START lifts the block on our number; order updates then resume for orders placed with the box checked. A number on a restaurant’s do not text list stays off that restaurant’s marketing.

6. How to get help (HELP)

Reply HELP or INFO to any message, or email us at Nick@ivywildmedia.com. Customers receive:

Ivywild Media (EZ Online Ordering) support: Nick@ivywildmedia.com. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg&Data Rates May Apply.

7. How consent is recorded

Every order stores the customer’s choice in the checkout box with the order itself: the mobile number, the time the order was placed, and whether the box was checked. A change on the account page is stored with the time it was made. Order updates for an order are sent only if the box was checked on that order. Marketing is sent only when the number’s most recent recorded choice is yes and the number is not on the restaurant’s do not text list. An order placed before the box existed counts as no. These records are kept as proof of consent.

8. Privacy of mobile information

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
